My foster carer takes me to dance lessons every Monday after school. I like dancing because I make awesome dances and get to go to competitions. At my last competition, I came third out of thirteen! I was surprised in a good way, and I was given a medal to wear around my neck. I felt really proud of myself. My foster carer, foster sister, her girlfriend and my dance teacher were all there watching and cheered for me. When I came off the stage, they all gave me a cuddle and then I sat and watched my dance friend do her dance for the older category and she came fourth.
Dancing is good because I make friends, I get to stay active, wear nice costumes, and do fun, cool stuff. I want to say thank you to my foster carers for taking me dancing, supporting me at competitions and buying my costumes.
Chloe’s foster carers want to add that Chloe has worked so hard to achieve this 3rd place out of 13 children. Chloe was determined to place after not placing last year as a solo. As a family they are all very proud of her.
Chloe gets massively overwhelmed when she is feeling stressed, and can ‘zone out’, but for this competition she did not zone out at all, even though it could feel quite scary to perform in front of a large audience. What Chloe has achieved is amazing, and the support and encouragement she is getting from her foster carers, alongside her own skills and abilities, are leading her to become a very confident and capable young person.
